Wonder why in Exodus 2:1 it it sounds like a man and a woman just got married then had a son. When they obviously already had a daughter old enough to take care of the baby boy. (just kid of strange to me.)
I love Exodus 3:14 "God replied to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM."

Girls didn't count for much back then, that's probably why they worded it the way they did. I always find it fascinating that women were just property, yet God often used them to accomplish great things!
ReplyDeleteI thought is was interesting that this translation makes it pretty clear what Moses' speech impediment was like. I remember it being pretty vague in most other translations or maybe I'm confused.
hmmm I never thought about Moses having a speech impediment. The NIV says he wasn't eloquent in his speech & that he was slow of speech and tongue. So I always thought it meant he just wasn't a very good public speaker. But when you put it with this translation it does kindof sound like maybe he did have a speech impediment.
ReplyDeleteI've always considered it to be in the same category as, "What was the thorn in Paul's side?" We ain't gonna get the answer to that one until we get to heaven!
ReplyDeleteand then we won't care
